spent most of class ironing out issues within sound booth, managed to get sound working and started deciding on the scale and notes. for the sake of time im going with a simplified climb in scale. 
while trying to fix volume issues i crashed audition.  i plan to record sound Thursday and Friday and finish editing by sunday possibly sans title.

today worked on timing and editing the fx optical properties, slower progress then ide like i may need to re simplify to ensure t gets done.
i also noticed the video did not go up so ill try again

my goal is to have a final render by next class, as to weather this will  i know not
over weekend: finished most animation, and rendered preliminary render, something about the movement seems off? maybe too fast?  the lights glow spread has been shown to be too large and the camera is out of position in render.

in class: edit light atributes with mov as reference.

made main search sequence  though timing of fx atributes need to be double check since they are no visible without render. (their key frames are also no where to be found for some reason)
narratve option 2:

light searches for friend (increase glow intensity and star count then radial rotation and add medley as call)  no answer light tries again no answer, it moves around and tries from a different spot at first no answer then after delay very very faint answer, light gets excited and moves around tires call again, faint answer light glows more and gets louder answering call gets louder after x maybe two or three more attempts? (too many?) the other light comes into the scene and the other light rejoyces
revised narrative option:

light searches for friend vibrates to spawn new friend, new friend is sleepy tires to sleepy (change to sleepy color) other light having brightened up wanting to play nudges sleepy one, dose this a few time sleepy one becomes grumpy and chases playful one while its color changes form sleepy to red then red to playful(increase in sleepy tone to chipper?)

due to issue with light intensity controls may need to rely on glow spread.

3 hours spent revising starting scene again changed timing and deleted most key frames, encountered lighting issue were intensity resets every time i render.
falling behind schedule, thinking of cutting narrative short in order to privatize emotion displayed movement. timing is proving much harder then i thought to make the light a believable entity with emotions and thoughts.

today got self illumination to work and ironed out ideas more.

fixed issue in lower level file, encountered new issue with same scene, considering downsizing the scene to persevere the computer's integrity.(last night forgot to post it)

further fixed lower level scene then deleted and re did, worked on composition of lower level scene and lighting. (today)

for wed i plan i finishing the robot dump room and finish the final render on the counter.

today i began work on dump room and encounter/fixed multiple errors with lighting.

made lighting animation and light animation for lighting lost all two hours of work to ender debacle. with time left made the counter and the number change animation in a separate scene.
Between now and monday i will to various small  test renders on how long things like lighting take and look but most time will be spent with fabrication.

three hours spent arguing with lighting active rigid bodies trying to get them to move in animation, figured out only the passive (receiving body) can be animated so far. managed to fix lighting thickness after half hour of searching. managed to animate lighting balls. began fabricating counter. spent four hours compensating for lack of glow reflection eventually fabricated solution if a little rough.

once i finish the lighting situation of after a day of working on it has passed ill start making the lightning balls and animating them.

managed to get basics of temperature based mist down, still need to work on how to shape it and control is motion while animating.

if the render proves to be an issue i may try to combine these new fluid and temperature methods with the standard smoke emitter and see if that cuts down on time any.

i also need to iron out the color so the mist has a strange lifelike quality fitting for the companion and to help set the mood.

need to finish the mist and start on my companion.

last night i managed to get father in the basic animation am about half way or more through he story but it still need a lot of tweaking. a few animation issues shave come up most vexing of which is that a word will revert back to its bent state for no reason after its animation. other then this there has been a few issues with speed though this may simply be timing. my plan is to finish the animation with just ant timing i can and go back in to fine toone.

worked for a few hours then crashed maya, made a few tests for what the book world would look like, tried to make a broken tower and broke maya in the process.

i managed to get to step 31 and add some stuff of my own, broke the system only once when i was playing with the lights. did some resarchin in to hair on maya and character rigging. the rigging has helped me get some ideas for the fly through cameras motion. maybe make a dragon or  chimera like creature the camera for some interesting effects worked maybe 10- 13 hours give or take a few
